Perhaps the best known of all authors from Honduras is Ramon Amaya Amador. Ramon Amaya Amador was also a journalist and an avowed communist. His beliefs and his outspoken manner meant that his works and voice had a great deal of significance in the politics of Honduras. His works are still read to this day and some were even published after his untimely death at the age of 50. One thing that all of these authors share, despite the varied subject matter of their writings, is their uncanny ability to capture what was going on socially and politically in Honduras during their lifetime which is great for us. There is no easy road to becoming a published author in the country of Honduras. There are very few publishing companies in Honduras and most publish only the most well known and established authors.
