Poetry Submit

poetry-albumWhy is poetry important in our everyday lives? There are many reasons, but one of the most profound is that poetry can light a fire in a person’s life and change their well being for the better. In most cases, it lets the reader see the world in a different light and gives us a new perspective on any given subject. It gets the creative juices flowing for both the writer and the reader.

The best part about poetry is that it doesn’t always follow a conventional method of writing, but rather it lets us experiment with words that would not otherwise be written. Those words can be magical!

In schools, poetry is essential in that it fosters a building of community through writing sketches of life, it provides rhythm and sounds to children, it allows for the English learner to use their language skills in a non threatening environment, and most importantly it allows students to gain insight into a life they may not otherwise have been privy to, thus opening up their horizons.

Because poetry is an essential part of literature we have now added a new section of POETS coming from many Latin Countries. We will be adding a section of CURRENT poets from within the United States in addition to the ones that are featured here.  Keep a look out for these as they will be forthcoming soon!

If you have a poem you would like to share with our audience, please feel free to submit to us at thelatinoauthor@gmail.com. We look forward to you submitting. Include the following when submitting your information; Picture (jpeg) of yourself or a picture you want associated with your poem, a brief bio excerpt of yourself, and contact information so readers can reach you for questions and/or books, etc.
