Overview:

Monica Brown has done it again. She has created another magnificent Children’s book that will delight the reader from the beginning to the end. It is a wonderful book that takes the reader on an eight-year old girl’s birthday journey with a modern and inventive twist for an almost-impossible wish.

Bilingual Storybook: Marisol McDonald and the Clash Bash by Monica BrownThe 32-page book comes complete with colorful and charming illustrations that are created to capture the essence of Marisol’s world and a reader’s attention. Ms. Brown is the master of her craft as she splendidly sets the story with a great plot and ARC. Her main character, Marisol, is such a delight with her spunky and whimsical dress combinations.

The author splendidly gives insight into her own mixed heritage and the reader gets a sense of this as they turn the pages. The language is structured around a child’s world and will easily draw the reader in.

A children’s story book should be one that will entice a child to have it at her or his bedside. This book delivers. This book is one that will entice your child to curl up on a sofa and read it from start to finish!

For Teachers and Librarians:

This book is a must for all classrooms and Libraries. The fact that the plot works for any child in any country is even more appealing. Because the characters are of Peruvian heritage, it makes it more interesting and appealing for children to read as it touches on a different culture. Because the book is bilingual, it is another added plus for Latino and non Latino students alike. What an opportunity to bridge the gap of diversity!

For Parents and Children:

This book is a must buy for your child for any occasion. It is a good-feel book and makes for a great bedtime story. One to definitely have in your home. Would I recommend this book? Absolutely!
