Lupe-Ruiz-Flores

Lupe Ruiz-Flores is a children’s book author. She has four bilingual picture storybooks published by Arte Público Press: Lupita’s Papalote (kite), The Woodcutter’s Gift/El regalo del leñador, The Battle of the Snow Cones/La Guerra de las raspas, and Alicia’s Fruity Drinks/Las aguas frescas de Alicia. She has worked as a staff writer for a local newspaper and has ghost written non-fiction short stories for a national magazine. Some of her poetry has been published in anthologies as well. She’s been a featured author at the Texas Book Festival in Austin twice. She is a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI), the Society of Latino & Hispanic Writers, and the Writers’ League of Texas. She is currently working on a young adult novel.
