Rodriguez, Alma Patricia

Alma Rodriguez

Ms. Rodriguez is the author of Los Marmolejos: The Dance of the Alleles, Volume 1.

The author was born in San Antonio Texas.  Her family traveled from San Antonio to Crookston, Minnesota as a final generation of migrant workers in the sugar beet fields.  Her father was a linotype operator for the Crookston Times, and her mother and older siblings worked the fields. Alma obtained her B.A., in Early Childhood Education and Bilingual Education from UTSA in 2000; pursuing her education even as a wife and mother.  A former teacher, childcare owner, and child care education consultant- the author now invests her time in writing the saga of her ancestry.  Strongly affected by the values of her grandparents, the Marmolejo’s, Alma’s passion is to define the origins of the Mexican American by unfurling their identity and origins.
