Mariana Llanos is a Peruvian-born writer who resides in Oklahoma, USA. Mariana has written short stories since she was a young girl. Hoping to give a voice to the many characters that lived in her head, she studied Drama with the prestigious company Cuatrotablas, based in Lima. After moving to Oklahoma, Mariana worked as a preschool teacher, standing out for her creativity and passion for arts education. She has independently published six children’s books whose themes revolve around family love and acceptance. Her newest book, A Superpower for Me has also educational value as it reflects on the power of the vote. Mariana visits schools around the world through virtual technology to spark the passion for reading and writing. In her own words, “Sharing my Spanish accent with the world allows me to break stereotypes and build bridges of tolerance and inclusion. Sharing my stories allows me to speak in an international language: the language of imagination.”
I visit schools around the world through virtual technology to encourage children to write and read.
