Cuban-born writer/illustrator, Laura Lacámara, is the award-winning author of Floating on Mama’s Song (HarperCollins), a bilingual picture book inspired by her mother who sang opera in Havana.  Laura illustrated The Runaway Piggy and Alicia’s Fruity Drinks for Piñata Books/Arte Publico.  Dalia’s Wondrous Hair (May 31, 2014) is the first book Laura has written and illustrated.  Laura is a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI), and a frequent presenter at schools, libraries, and conferences.  She lives in Venice, California with her husband, their daughter, and a doggie.  Learn more at:  www.LauraLacamara.com
