Lydia Gil

Lydia Gil was born in Mayagüez, Puerto Rico, of Cuban parents. She author of the bilingual picture book, Mimi’s Parranda / La parranda de Mimí (Piñata Books – 2007) and the forthcoming bilingual middle-grade novel, Letters from Heaven / Cartas del cielo (also from Arte Público’s Piñata, October 31, 2014). She teaches Spanish and Latin American literature at the University of Denver.  She blogs for La Bloga and writes for EFE, the leading Spanish-language news agency.
