Espinoza earned his MFA in Fiction from UC Irvine. His first novel, Still Water Saints (Random House, 2007) was a Barnes & Noble Discover Great New Writers selection and was published simultaneously in Spanish. He has written for the Los Angeles Times, the New York Times Magazine and Salon. A 2009 Bread Loaf Fiction Fellow and a member of the Macondo Writers’ Workshop, he teaches in the MFA Program at Fresno State and is completing his second novel, The Other Stranger, forthcoming from Random House.
