Bonifacio, Ayendy

ayendy bonafacio

I am a doctoral candidate in English at The Ohio State University. I teach writing and literature courses with themes of periodical culture and poetry. My research is highly interdisciplinary and is in dialogue with American literature, poetics, material culture, Latinx studies, and hemispheric studies. This intersection of fields is evident in my dissertation which investigates the work of popular nineteenth-century poets writing about race, gender, and class for widely circulated magazines, newspapers, and story papers. My articles and book reviews are published in Prose Studies: History, Theory, Criticism, Rocky Mountain Review of Language and Literature, and The Journal: A Literary Magazine. I am also the author of Dique Dominican (2017) published by Floricanto Press/Berkeley Press.
