Kianny N. Antigua is a Lecturer at Dartmouth College and a writer. She was born is San Francisco de Macorís, Dominican Republic, 1979. She graduated Summa Cum Laude with an Associate in Business Administration from LaGuardia Community College in 2001, & obtained a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Hispanic Literature from The City College of New York in 2005 y 2008 respectively. She has published: Mía, Esteban y las nuevas palabras / Mía, Esteban and the New Words (Children’s Lit., Alfaguara 2014), El tragaluz del sótano (Short Story, Artepoética Press 2014), Cuando el resto se apaga (Poetry, Proyecto Zompopos 2013), 9 Iris y otros malditos cuentos (Narrative, Editora Nacional 2010), & El expreso (Short Story, Argos 2004); and some of her short stories can be found in anthologies, magazines and textbooks such as 27 cuentistas hispanos (2004), Conexiones 3ra  ed. (2005), Onde, Farfalla e Aroma di Caffe (first anthology of Dominican writers translated into Italian, 2005), Mujeres de Palabra: Poética y Antología (2010), Nostalgias de arena. Antología de escritores de las comunidades dominicanas en los EE.UU. (2011), Máscaras errantes. Antología de dramaturgos dominicanos en los EE.UU. (2011), Colección. Premios FUNGLODE-GFDD 2011 Cuento (2012), La conversión de los objetos y otros cuentos premiados. Premio Nacional de Cuentos Joven de la Feria del Libro 2012 (2013), El Cid, Enclave I, Mediaisla & Trazos I, République Dominicaine, Nouvelles et microrécits. Auteurs Dominicains du XXIe Siècle, among others. «Downtown», one of her short stories, won the Second Prize in Premio de Cuento Juan Bosch, Funglode 2011, in the Dominica Republic, and seven other short stories have won honorary mentions in this and other literary contests.
