I was born in Mexico City and have always lived there. Brought up bilingual and bicultural, I have always loved reading and this lead to writing. I have 30 books published, most of them in Spanish by the main publishers of Mexico –such as as SM, Norma, Porrua, and Progreso– including five selected for the Mexican government’s reading program: “Los huesos sagrados“, “Vamos a comer… flores!“, and “Vamos a  comer… bichos!, Ediciones SM, and “Muyal“, a Maya folktale, and “Sapo y Yuku“, a Yaqui folktale, published by Editorial Progreso. Published in English are “Uncle Monarch and the Day of the Dead“, published by Boyds Mills Press, and stories in Highlights and Spider. In 2013, Charlesbridge will publish “Whiskers, Tails and Wings-Animal Folktales from Mexico.
