Kathleen de Azevedo’s novel Samba Dreamers, about Brazilians in the U.S. won the 2007 Pen Oakland Josephine Miles Award. Her work has appeared in Américas, Boston Review, Greensboro Review, Tampa Review, Hayden’s Ferry Review, Green Mountains Review, Michigan Quarterly Review, Gettysburg Review and TriQuarterly, among others. Her stories have been reprinted in many anthologies, including New Stories of the Southwest and Latinos in Lotus Land. She was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and currently lives in San Francisco.
