Betty Serra is a first generation Latin American born and raised in San Francisco, California. She currently resides in San Mateo County, but regularly commutes to downtown San Francisco’s financial district where she works at an insurance company. She loves to read and write and has been doing so since her childhood days growing up in the Mission District. For inspiration, she draws from her IV drip connected to her Nicaraguan and Ecuadorian heritage. In the last few years, she’s published a variety of poems and a collection of short stories, Fajitas and Friends (with AuthorHouse) in 2009. Most recently, she’s published a family memoir titled, A Century of Pachangas (with Floricanto Press).
