Nancy Osa is an author and editorial consultant who lives and works outside of Portland, Oregon. Her father emigrated from Cuba before the revolution, and her mother’s ancestors came to America from England on the Mayflower. A native of Chicago, Osa worships the three Bs: blues, baseball, and barbecue.
Her funny first novel, Cuba 15 (Random House), won the Delacorte Press Prize for a First Young Adult Novel and was recognized as an ALA Pura Belpré Honor Book, a YALSA Best Book for Young Adults, a Booklist Top Ten First Novel for Youth, an Américas Award Honor Book, an Oregon Book Award Finalist, and an ALSC Notable Book. She writes and edits books, short stories, and articles, and shares her spare time with her Irish setter, miniature poodle, and Canadian horse.
